Sophie Pavia was a Ph.D. student at SCOPE Lab working on dynamic decision procedures for public transit systems. Her research explored how AI and optimization techniques can improve the responsiveness and efficiency of transit services in real-time operational environments.
Sophie’s contributions spanned the lab’s transit-focused projects, helping develop algorithms that enable transit systems to adapt quickly to changing conditions, unexpected disruptions, and evolving demand patterns. Notably, she co-developed the microtransit operations system that won the Best Demonstration Award at SMARTCOMP 2023.
