Ayan Mukhopadhyay

Assistant Professor, William & Mary

Ayan Mukhopadhyay is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at William & Mary and a collaborator with the SCOPE Lab. He was formerly a Senior Research Scientist at Vanderbilt University, where he made foundational contributions to the lab’s work on decision procedures for societal-scale cyber-physical systems.

His research focuses on multi-agent systems, robust machine learning, and decision-making under uncertainty. At Vanderbilt, Ayan contributed to projects across transit optimization, emergency response, and resource allocation, developing algorithmic and game-theoretic approaches to solve complex coordination and planning problems in large-scale distributed systems. He continues to collaborate with the SCOPE Lab on research bridging theory and practice in AI-driven decision-making.
